Governance
A Warm Welcome from our Governors
The Orchards Federation is overseen by its Governing Board The Governors work with the Executive Head Teacher and the school Head Teachers to:
- set the overall strategic plans for the schools
- set the schools’ budgets
- set targets for the schools
- monitor the schools’ performance
Our role is to support and challenge the Federation Leadership team to ensure that your child’s experience in school matches our Vision and Values.
The Federation has one board of Governors, comprising of Local Authority representatives, school staff, parents and co-opted governors. Between them, they have a wide range of experience and expertise, and represent the community that we serve. The Board meets once per term (twice in Autumn).
There are then a number of committees, with representation from the main Board. These are:
- Resources (Federation wide)
- Outcomes committees for each of the three schools
- Premises (Federation wide)
- Chairs and Heads
Each of these committees meets termly; the minutes of these meetings are shared with the whole Board of Governors. For more information about the terms of reference for each committee, please click on that section.
